DSAGLIVE 2021: Courage to change

Written by Daniel Schumacher | Sep 6, 2021

“Courage and Intelligence – Now!” is the motto of DSAGLIVE 2021. This year, the digital annual congress of the German-speaking SAP User Group (DSAG) will take place from September 20 to 24. The event motto is an invitation to companies to boldly tackle the transformations of their business models and not to wait any longer. At the same time, DSAG also associates this with the expectation that SAP will demonstrate ways in which highly customized systems and processes can be transferred to SAP S/4HANA cloud environments and what user companies need to do to achieve this.

The coverage of DSAGLIVE 2021 at a glance:

Ready for digitization?

Digitization brings many benefits to companies. To profit from them, however, they must make themselves and their processes fit for the digital age. The to-do list includes simplifying and accelerating processes, eliminating redundancies and adapting or redesigning methodologies. However, there is often a lack of understanding of how classic processes can be transformed into intelligent solutions with the help of up-to-date software and new technologies.

DSAG also sees this as the reason why many companies find the migration to SAP S/4HANA an enormous challenge. “The changes in the company associated with S/4HANA projects are often not agile and simple, they are exhausting, effort-intensive and cost-intensive. For this reason, many of our user companies are still reluctant,” says DSAG Board Chairman Jens Hungershausen.

Demonstrating the added value of RISE with SAP

RISE with SAP represents a possible path to SAP S/4HANA and cloud IT architecture. The offering, with which SAP aims to provide transformation-as-a-service, combines the move to cloud software with various approaches designed to drive business transformation. “For SAP users, this can definitely provide one or the other positive impetus, but it still has to prove itself in reality,” explains Jens Hungershausen.

SAP faces the task of addressing the benefits of RISE with SAP and the transformation to the intelligent enterprise more clearly and tangibly than before. This applies in particular to the various options for transformation – private cloud vs. public cloud – and the corresponding services. The fact that SAP has so far hardly succeeded in communicating the added values of RISE with SAP was also shown by the latest DSAG survey on this topic.

Virtual networking

This year, DSAGLIVE is once again the virtual alternative to the DSAG annual congress. Around 3,000 participants are expected to attend to learn about current SAP topics. As part of the online event, there will also be numerous opportunities for direct exchange and networking.
