SAP BW Bridge for SAP Data Warehouse Cloud

Switch efficiently from SAP BW systems to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud using SAP BW Bridge

SAP BW Bridge - Your path from SAP BW systems to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud

With the help of SAP BW Bridge, customers who use an on-premise BW system (BW 7.30, BW 7.40, BW 7.50, BW/4HANA) have the option of switching to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud (DWC) quickly and cost-effectively. But there are also advantages for those who are already using SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. For more information please also read our blog article “The top 10 questions about SAP BW Bridge”.

What is the SAP BW Bridge?

With the help of SAP BW Bridge, you can switch from an on-premise BW to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, i.e. to the cloud. The data in your data storage is not lost, but can be transferred directly to the cloud. SAP BW Bridge is provided by SAP as a free feature. In short, SAP BW Bridge is a feature of SAP Data Warehouse Cloud that allows you to move from SAP BW NetWeaver or SAP BW/4HANA to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and easily connect Business Suite systems.

Who is SAP BW Bridge suitable for?

Are you using BW 7.40 or older? Then the maintenance of the system has already expired since the end of 2020. You have the following options:

  • Be part of the innovation and implement SAP Data Warehouse Cloud (DWC), SAP’s strategic data warehouse solution.
  • Switch to SAP BW/4HANA, which will be maintained until 2040.
  • Switch to SAP BW 7.50, which will be maintained until 2030.

If you are a business looking to move to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and do not want to take a greenfield approach, SAP BW Bridge allows you to not have to start from scratch. Rather, you can continue to use a large part of your data models and data in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.

Why do I need SAP BW Bridge and what are the benefits?

  • Thanks to SAP BW Bridge, you can transfer large components from older BW systems directly to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and thus save time and costs.
  • You remain innovative and always up to date by switching to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.
  • Easily integrate data from on-premise SAP Business Suite systems.
  • Your investments are preserved.
