If you want to get up to date with the latest developments in business intelligence, then IBsolution’s virtual BI Summit on June 10, 2021 is just the right event for you. Attendees can look forward to a varied agenda with exciting keynotes, presentations, customer projects and discussion panels on data warehousing, reporting, analytics and planning. Registration for the event is for free.

BARC keynote and SAP presentations

The keynote address at the start of BI Summit 2021 will be given by Dr. Carsten Bange, Managing Director of the renowned Business Application Research Center (BARC), a research and consulting institute for enterprise software that specializes in BI, analytics and data management, among other areas. Afterwards, three SAP speakers will provide insights into SAP’s strategy and roadmap in the areas of business intelligence and analytics. In this way, BI Summit 2021 attendees will learn first-hand how SAP’s BI portfolio will change in the coming years and what impact this will have on companies’ BW landscapes.

SAP speakers will be Gordon Witzel, Product Manager SAP HANA Database & Analytics, Holger Handel, Product Manager SAP Analytics Cloud & SAP BPC, and Jie Deng, Product Manager SAP Analytics Cloud. Gordon Witzel’s presentation will focus on the different options for data warehousing: SAP BW/4HANA, SAP SQL Data Warehousing and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. Holger Handel and Jie Deng will focus on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) – first with a look at the planning functionalities, then with a focus on the possibilities that SAC offers with regard to analytics.

Round table on operational reporting

Operational reporting provides valuable insights into a company’s operational activities. In a round table discussion, Helge Sanden, editor-in-chief of IT-Onlinemagazin, together with Thomas Henzler, CIO at PILLER Blowers & Compressors, and Martin Hügel, Application Consultant at OPTIMA packaging group, will discuss the conditions under which operational reporting is preferable to tactical or strategic reporting. The basic question is when reporting based on operational data from the ERP system is sufficient and when companies need a 360-degree view of all their data from the ERP and satellite systems.

Field report and panel discussion

With the help of the AGIMENDO.personnel add-on solution, personnel planning can be performed directly in SAP BW. Sebastian Illhardt, organizational consultant/corporate development at Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, will report on how this can work in practice at BI Summit 2021. The energy provider from the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital has made its personnel planning more transparent, flexible and reliable with AGIMENDO.personnel.

How SAP product strategy and customer requirements can be brought together is the focus of the closing panel discussion at BI Summit 2021. As participants, moderator Helge Sanden welcomes Loren Heilig, Managing Director of IBsolution, Fabian Hartje, Head of Product Management for Data Warehousing at SAP, and BARC Managing Director Dr. Carsten Bange. Under the guiding question “Quo vadis, SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and Analytics”, the focus will be on how companies can future-proof their BI/BW landscape in the interplay between the SAP roadmap and their own needs.

Business Speed Coachings: networking opportunities

The BI Summit is not only characterized by first-class presentations and discussions, but also by the fact that it gives participants the opportunity to become active themselves in terms of networking. The Business Speed Coaching sessions focus on an intensive exchange with like-minded people. Under the guidance of IBsolution experts, participants get to know SAP Data Warehouse in more detail, learn more about remote conversion to SAP BW/4HANA and familiarize themselves with the planning and reporting functionalities of SAP Analytics Cloud. With its varied agenda, BI Summit 2021 offers the ideal opportunity to learn about the diverse range of topics related to business intelligence, analytics and planning in a compact format.
