At the event “Hack2Build: Build business AI applications with SAP BTP Generative AI Hub” (February 28 to March 6, 2024), SAP partners developed prototypes for AI-supported applications. The use case realized by IBsolution uses artificial intelligence for data-driven decision-making.
AI-supported applications open up completely new perspectives for the optimization of business processes. SAP Generative AI Hub on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) forms the technological basis for implementing innovative business applications based on artificial intelligence. At the Hack2Build event “Build business AI applications with SAP BTP Generative AI Hub”, selected SAP partners had the opportunity to develop their ideas for AI solutions into prototypes using SAP’s AI technologies. The IBsolution team achieved an outstanding third place with its AI-supported application for controlling.
Data-based decision-making through prompt engineering
The IBsolution application enables data-driven decision-making thanks to the integration of generative AI, for example ChatGPT, and comprehensive prompt engineering. This significantly increases the speed and accuracy of corporate management – while explicitly taking into account the company’s business strategy and ethical principles.
The advantage for employees in controlling: Efficiency-enhancing, intelligent processes replace time-consuming manual analyses, allowing controllers to focus their time and attention on value-adding activities. Deviations can be identified much more effectively than before and targeted measures can be derived for the company.
Finding solutions instead of searching for causes
“Artificial intelligence offers enormous potential for automating controlling tasks and accelerating and optimizing decision-making,” says Stefan Spieler, Partner Finance & Controlling at IBsolution. “Our AI solution enables companies to spend less time searching for potential causes of deviations and instead focus on finding solutions.” While the generative AI identifies possible reasons for deviations and suggests measures, the user retains control of the process at all times and decides how to proceed based on the suggestions.
From prototype to market readiness
The next step is to take the product from prototype status to market readiness with the support of SAP. Once this has been achieved, IBsolution’s AI-supported solution will take corporate controlling to the next level and generate significant added business value.
